Broken Down on the Princes Highway
Where I cover on the highway
I run the Princes Highway from Sale through Stratford, Bairnsdale, Nicholson, Swan Reach, Lakes Entrance, Nowa Nowa and on to Orbost. Further east by arrangement.
Your car goes on a tilt tray with all four wheels off the road, then to your mechanic, a Bairnsdale workshop, your accommodation or home.
Holiday traffic and caravans
In summer and on long weekends the highway is busy with vans and boats. If you are towing, tell me the van or trailer size when you call, so I can plan for both.

- Pull as far left as you can, ideally right off the road
- Turn on your hazard lights
- If it is safe, get everyone out on the side away from traffic and stand behind the barrier

Only if getting out is unsafe. On a fast highway, it is usually safer to wait behind the barrier or well away from the traffic side.
